Rega Research is a British manufacturer of Hi-Fi equipment, founded in 1973 in Essex by Roy Gandy and Tony Relph. The name is made up of the first letters of their surnames: RElph and GAndy.

The company's philosophy is built on one principle: mass absorbs energy, and lost energy is lost music. Hence - minimal weight of structures, maximum rigidity and no unnecessary complications. Rega does not spend money on advertising, directing them to engineering research. Each product is assembled by hand in its own factory in England and undergoes bench tests before shipment.
