Although the Fono MC MK4 is specifically designed to complement Rega's latest line of moving coils, you'll find full gain and load control via switches conveniently located on the rear panel, making it compatible with a wide range of low-power MC cartridges from third-party manufacturers.

A MUSE operational amplifier was used in the RIAA equalizer. Polypropylene capacitors were used in the signal path and in the RIAA equalizer circuits. The rear panel offers both impedance and capacitance input load selection, as well as two different gain settings, making the Fono MC MK4 compatible with most low output MC cartridges. The new Fono MC MK4 circuitry is the result of work on the development of the highly successful Aria phono preamplifier.
The aesthetic design of the Fono MC MK4 was as important as the quality of its electrical capabilities, so it features the same new aluminum chassis as the Rega Neo MK2 power supply and Fono MM MK5 phono preamplifier, giving it a familiar look and also putting it on par with its famous older brothers.
The Fono MC MK4 now comes in a new, refreshed enclosure to match the new Fono MM MK5 and Neo MK2 models, as well as Rega's latest range of electronic components, offering a contemporary design guaranteed to fit into any hi-fi system.
