Standard infrasound filters are not intelligent and are usually disliked by audiophiles. They filter out not only the bass rumble from distorted recordings, but also the bass of the song. Our intelligent infrasonic filter knows the difference between the two and filters only the warp, leaving the song completely intact and not adding group delay.
At the vinyl mastering stage, the records are pressed using the RIAA inverse equalization curve. When played on a phono stage, this must be reversed to reveal the magic of the music.
The ZEN Phono 3's RIAA equalizer circuit uses multiple TDK C0G capacitors in parallel. This provides the best stability and lowest distortion.
As a result, the ZEN Phono 3's RIAA playback EQ curve is within +/- 0.15 dB tolerance over the 20-20 kHz range, allowing you to hear your recordings more accurately than ever before.
RIAA playback accuracy is as good as more expensive phono preamps that use hand-selected capacitors.
The ZEN Phono 3 has a high-tech, clean power supply built directly into it, isolated on its own “island” and separated from the rest of the board.
The isolation of the power supply reduces noise pollution in the analog stage, ensuring that only audio is amplified and allowing floor noise to remain as quiet as a whisper.
The equivalent input noise of the ZEN Phono 3 is measured at -151 dBV, which is 20 dBV quieter than some Class A+ stereo phono stages. *
