Description
The design is based on Rega’s proprietary polymer bearings, which provide virtually frictionless movement in both horizontal and vertical planes, while completely eliminating play in the assembly. This is a rare combination: manufacturers usually sacrifice one for the other, while Rega engineers have spent years honing this balance.
The RB220 features a preset bias that automatically adjusts the bias compensation as the needle traverses the track, eliminating the need for the user to manually adjust the bias. The three-point mounting makes mounting the tonearm to the deck quick and repeatable.
The low effective mass of 11g makes the RB220 a natural partner for medium to high compliance cartridges, typical of most entry-level and mid-range MM cartridges.
