This model retains all the strengths of the legendary Planar 2, but now features the all-new Rega Nd3 cartridge, an MM cartridge that delivers a new level of detail and dynamics in its class.
The turntable features a lightweight yet rigid MDF table, finished in a gloss or wood veneer finish that not only looks great but also helps reduce unwanted resonances. An optically clear glass platter and a new platform with improved legs provide rotational stability and effective vibration isolation.
At the heart of the design is the signature RB220 tonearm, a Rega engineering achievement that delivers precise tracking and minimal signal loss. Its lightweight aluminium tube, high-precision bearings and anti-resonance construction create an incredibly clean, open, articulate sound.
The Rega Nd3 cartridge is a new development from the brand, which for the first time in the MM class uses powerful N55 neodymium magnets. Thanks to its symmetrical geometry and elliptical needle profile, the Nd3 delivers an exceptionally clean, transparent and balanced sound, characteristic of more expensive systems.
