At the heart of the Ania Pro is Vital’s proprietary unpolished diamond stylus profile, designed specifically to extract the most information from the record surface. It’s not just a sharp stylus – it’s a geometry that’s been chosen to evenly cover the entire width of the groove, reading details that simpler elliptical profiles simply miss.
The Ania Pro inherits the same intricate hand-wound microcoil used in the entire Rega MC range – wound on an iron microcross, with a super-powerful neodymium magnet. This miniature assembly gives the generator the freedom to accurately track the smallest vibrations of the groove, extracting even more detail from the recording than cartridges with more massive moving parts can.
The cartridge is housed in a unique rigid body made of PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) with an admixture of 40% glass – a material that guarantees impeccable geometric assembly accuracy. Rega’s proprietary three-way mount ensures optimum contact with the tonearm head and automatically sets the correct overhang when mounted on Rega tonearms – no more alignment hassles. A red CAD-designed protective cover protects the delicate internal conductors during installation, making the installation process safe even for novices.
