The ELAC Miracord 80 vinyl turntable is a high-end model designed for demanding music lovers. The device has a massive construction (the total weight of ELAC Miracord 80 is 14 kg), which guarantees good protection against vibrations and high stability of operation.
The chassis of the player is made of 60 mm thick MDF board on a CNC machine. High precision manufacturing (with tolerances not worse than 0.1 mm) ensured a stable base for all ELAC Miracord 80 components. The chassis of the model can be finished with black lacquer or natural wood veneer. The side panels are made of aluminum and anodized in black.

The turntable is fitted with a 30 mm thick aluminum platter weighing 5.6 kg. The platter is diamond-cut and precisely balanced for smooth and stable rotation. The ELAC Miracord 80 is powered by a new DC motor that was custom-made by a specialized company. To maintain the exact speed of the disk, the player uses a microprocessor-based circuit with a servo drive. It constantly monitors the motor speed and instantly adjusts it if necessary. In combination with the massive platter, this has significantly reduced detonation and made the sound smooth and natural. The platter is equipped with a handmade felt damping mat.
The ELAC Miracord 80 turntable has a 10-inch carbon tonearm with azimuth and VTA adjustments. The turntable uses an improved scheme to protect the signal transmitted from the cartridge from interference. A pair of gold-plated screw terminals is used to connect the phono preamp.
The connector for connecting the external power supply of the ELAC Miracord 80 is manufactured by the German company Lumberg. It guarantees a reliable electrical connection for stable operation of the motor drive. The ELAC Alchemy Phono Preamp PPA-2 phono preamplifier has the same connector and can be used to power the turntable.
