In 2016, the Miracord name was re-established in the high-end audio community. After 3 years and 3 product releases, the Miracord 60 is ready to continue the unique ELAC Audiophile Turntable Saga. The Miracord 60 was designed to bring the world-renowned and attractive design of the successful Miracord 90 to a new class of ELAC turntable. The result is a turntable that does not deny its origins, but at the same time emphasizes its individuality.
The massive chassis of the ELAC Miracord 60 weighing 5.5 kg is made of MDF and mounted on damping silicone supports. The chassis has excellent resistance to resonances and reliably protects the player from vibrations. This model uses a support disk made of aluminum. The disk rests on a steel bearing with a ruby ball with a diameter of 8 mm. The bearing housing is made of bronze and has minimal friction to maintain rotational stability.
The ELAC Miracord 60 player uses a classic drive, which provides good speed stability in the absence of vibrations and noise. The DC motor is mounted with double mechanical isolation from the chassis. At the same time, the material with high damping properties used for vibration isolation of the motor was developed by ELAC. The stability of the drive rotation is controlled using an electronic PID circuit with an optical sensor.
The ELAC Miracord 60 turntable is equipped with a lightweight carbon fiber tonearm with a precision gimbal bearing. The tonearm has a removable shell, which significantly expands the choice of a suitable pickup and will surely appeal to many music lovers. It is possible to install a cartridge weighing 3.5 - 15 g with 0.5 - 5 g of contact force. The tonearm design provides the ability to adjust anti-skating.
For connection to an external phono equalizer or the corresponding input of an integrated amplifier or AV receiver, there are a pair of gold-plated RCA connectors on the player.
The ELAC Miracord 60 has a fairly comfortable, balanced sound with minimal noise and very high detail, typical of high-end vinyl players.
