The Miracord name once resonated during the golden age of stereo, when vinyl turntables were the heart of every home system. Today, ELAC revives that legacy with the Miracord 50, a turntable that combines retro charm with modern precision engineering. It's the choice for those starting their first record collection, and the perfect tool for those returning to their beloved vinyl after a long hiatus.
The Miracord 50 is based on a low-noise DC servo motor connected to a cast aluminum disc via a rubber belt. Unlike simple belt drives, this one uses a servo-controlled speed control system: a sensor continuously reads the actual speed of rotation on the bearing and instantly corrects it via a feedback loop. This improves the sound detonation by more than 50% and the speed accuracy by 66% compared to a conventional belt drive without correction. The disc has two modes - 33⅓ and 45 rpm, which are switched with a single knob on the panel.
The multi-layer construction of the Miracord 50 plinth is designed to dampen unwanted resonances and vibrations before they have time to color the sound of the needle. The cast aluminum disc is additionally damped with a rubber gasket from the inside, which, together with the massiveness of the plinth itself, provides a clean, detailed sound even in acoustically difficult rooms.
The tonearm is statically balanced, of a straight tubular design, with precision bearings and built-in anti-skating adjustment. The removable bayonet head allows you to quickly change cartridges without unnecessary complications. From the factory, the tonearm is already equipped with a mounted MM cartridge - all parameters of the vertical tracking angle, contact force and azimuth are set by the manufacturer, so the user does not need to do any complex settings on their own.
Miracord 50 is equipped with a built-in phono equalizer with the ability to turn it off, which corrects the signal according to the RIAA standard. This means that the player can be connected to almost any system - even to an amplifier or active speakers without a separate phono amplifier. Just turn it on, put in a record, and enjoy warm analog sound without the additional expense of a separate phono equalizer.
