Not every audiophile is satisfied with just one tonearm. The Gold Note PH-10 was designed for just such people - those who know that a proper phono stage is not just an amplifier, but the control center for the entire analog system. The Florentine company has invested in the PH-10 everything that has made its reputation: a fully analog circuit, uncompromising flexibility of settings and physical perfection of execution.
The main advantage of the PH-10 over its younger models is a pair of separate RCA stereo inputs. Each input is fully adjustable: its own gain, its own impedance, its own equalization curve. The settings are stored in memory even after the power is turned off. Connect two tonearms with different cartridges — MM and MC, vintage and modern, light and heavy — and switch between them with one touch. This is not convenience, it is a qualitatively different approach to analog listening.
RIAA is the standard for modern vinyl. But Decca London and American Columbia are the standards according to which thousands of classic records were recorded until the 1960s. The PH-10 plays each of the three, and each can be activated in Enhanced mode: Gold Note technology, inspired by the Neumann cutting machine, raises the frequency response to 50 kHz, adding additional air, stage depth and microdynamics to the recording. The selected curve is graphically displayed directly on the display—not a number, but a shape you can see.
Nine input load values from 10 to 47,000 ohms and four gain levels (−3, 0, +3, +6 dB) cover the entire spectrum of modern and vintage cartridges—from the most sensitive MM to the quietest MC with an output of 0.1 mV. Wherever your cartridge falls on this scale, the PH-10 will find the right point for it.
Where the PH-5 opted for a touchscreen, the PH-10 uses the company's Single Knob Control—a single physical jog handle combined with a color display. This approach allows you to change any parameter during playback without pausing—with one hand, without looking at the menu. For a system where every change in load or curve is a meaningful musical experience, not a technical operation.
The PH-10 chassis is milled from a single block of aircraft-grade aluminum. Available in three finishes — black, silver, and gold — the device looks equally convincing in any interior. The internal geometry of the case ensures natural cooling, minimizing vibrations and magnetic interference. The output — unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR.
The external PSU-10 power supply — a super-inductive linear PSU with a double choke — opens up a new level of sound for the PH-10: deeper, more voluminous, with a more expressive quiet floor level.
