Description
The PH-5 is the latest in the Gold Note line of phono preamps, designed to deliver the same high quality and superior performance that made the PH-10 and PH-1000 famous, with an affordable price and all the advanced features that make our products stand out. With a single RCA input, it can be connected to MM or MC cartridges and offers a choice of EQ curves (RIAA, Decca London and American Columbia, with the Enhanced option) as well as LOAD and GAIN settings to guarantee maximum flexibility and versatility, making it ideal for all types of analog systems.
Product information
The PH-5 is the first Gold Note product designed with a touch interface: all settings are easily accessible and changeable thanks to an innovative and unrivaled user-friendly display that allows you to select and control all parameters in real time while playing. music. The phono stage is based on a completely new design to integrate all electronics into one board.
The digital interface is combined with a fully analog heart: indeed, the signal path passes through discrete audio-grade components and sealed single switches, and it is optimized to shorten the distance and minimize possible interference. Each setting selected on the touch screen is applied to the audio signal, changing its path using a relay. The PH-5 has an "analog purity" capable of delivering excellent sound quality and extracting even the finest details from a vinyl record.
The PH-5 allows you to select the most suitable equalization curve for each vinyl record directly on the touchscreen: RIAA, DECCA LONDON and AMERICAN COLUMBIA. With our signature technology, inspired by Georg Neumann (maker of the famous Neumann Disc Cutting Lathe), each curve can be "enhanced" to extend the frequency response up to 50kHz, further enhancing the stage, dynamics and resolution if required.
To maximize the performance of the PH-5, we have also developed a special external super-inductive power supply that allows the turntable to reach its full potential, achieving an even higher level of musical realism, better dynamics and more three-dimensional sound.
