AP-505-B
Description
The AP-505 is a versatile stereo power amplifier with Teac tuning and Hypex Ncore technology in a compact and elegant package. Lightweight aluminum alloy panels cover a sturdy steel chassis. A pair of large level meters add visual impact when the amp is running, while patented Teac feet, located in three strategic positions on the underside, help create a more detailed image.
Hypex Ncore amplifier technology tuned by Teac
The AP-505 uses a high-performance and energy-efficient Hypex Ncore power amplifier module that delivers 130W + 130W in stereo/two-channel boost modes or 250W in BTL mode. The module controls a wide range of speakers, it correctly reproduces the dynamics of real music.
Stability and elegance
The front, top and side panels are made of high-quality aluminum alloy and securely attached to a strong steel inner chassis. This construction method helps reduce the transmission of mechanical vibration and ensures that every single element inside the device performs at its best. Thanks to the convenient A4 format, the AP-505 is very compact and easily fits into a modern interior. This is in stark contrast to most conventional bi-amp / BTL power amplifiers, which tend to be bulky units.
Balanced design
Using a fully balanced circuit from the input stage to the output stage, the AP-505 keeps the audio signal as pure as possible as it passes through the amplifier, resulting in extremely low distortion levels and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. noise coefficient (due to the effective elimination of common-mode noise).
Carefully selected components
The amplifier uses high-quality dual MUSES8820E operational amplifiers for XLR and RCA inputs. In the power supply section for the input stage of the rectifier circuit, the left and right channels are completely independent of the power transformer and use four high-capacity capacitors of 4700 µF on each channel (8 in total), which ensures a clear separation of the soundstage between the channels. A well-designed circuit provides excellent signal integrity, thanks in part to the absence of decoupling capacitors that can lose audio information as the signal passes through them.
Toroidal power transformer
The AP-505 uses a large capacity toroidal core transformer with Schottky barrier diodes in the rectifier circuit.
