Music Protection — Carbon Fiber Brush Black Alu - Black Edition Gift with this product: Music Protection — Carbon Fiber Brush Black Alu - Black Edition

Description

The Rega Planar 6 player was born on the wave of success of the RP8 and RP10 models. Its purpose is to reproduce the vinyl record as precisely and accurately as possible, to "extract" every emotional detail of the soundtrack. For this, the most modern materials and the best engineering solutions are used in the design, in particular, the RB330 precision tonearm hand-assembled. Ania MC or Exact MM are recommended by the manufacturer as pickups. A smoked dust cover and stylish aluminum legs complete the set.

For the first time in Rega's practice, a load-bearing sandwich panel (plinth) is used for a record player of this price category, which combines low weight with high rigidity and excellent anti-vibration properties. Rigidity is provided by the outer layers of the panel made of pressed laminate (HPL, high pressure laminate). And low mass and damping — cellular filler made of Tan-Cast 8 polyurethane foam, developed for the aerospace industry. The panel is painted in a matte Polaris gray color, the edges are finished with a glossy black polymer coating.

The disc is double-layered: the rim, in which the mass of the disc (and its moment of inertia) is concentrated, is made of smoky acrylic, the disc itself is made of transparent. This allows you to view the player device. The tonearm mounting assembly and the machined solid aluminum spindle are mounted on a lightweight aluminum sub-chassis, ensuring precision tonearm placement. The sub-chassis is also attached to the sandwich panel — this is how vibration isolation with the engine is ensured. The spindle axis rotates in a bronze bearing housing with reduced friction, the design of which is currently being patented.

The new 24-volt synchronous motor, selected for vibration level, is connected to the spindle by a white circular cross section. The Neo PSU's electronic motor control unit allows you to precisely adjust the rotation speed, which until now was only available in the RP10 player. To reduce vibrations, the motor and the control unit are selected in matched pairs by hand.

The Neo PSU engine control unit (as in the RP10) uses a digital signal processor-frequency synthesizer stabilized by a crystal resonator. The processor forms phase-shifted sinusoidal voltages of the required frequency necessary for the operation of the synchronous motor.
