The developers paid special attention to the design of Q Acoustics Concept 300, which had to be favorably combined with any interior. In particular, a multi-layer lacquer coating and natural veneer have been used in the new speakers. Not only pleasant smoothed shapes, but also special driver mounting with the help of special highly elastic screws installed on the inside of the cabinet make the speakers look more neat. The specially designed terminals, which allow for two-wire or two-amplifier connections, are capable of accepting cables up to 4 mm² and are located on a vibration-proof terminal panel.
Ideally, the only vibrations a loudspeaker should produce are those necessary for its sound. Of course, it is not possible to completely rid the loudspeaker enclosure of unwanted vibrations that can affect its performance, but as demonstrated by the Q Acoustics Concept 300, it is possible to keep enclosure vibrations to an absolute minimum to ensure a completely undistorted sound.
Q Acoustics Concept 300 uses MDF as the main enclosure material instead of a variety of expensive alternative materials. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, the alternative materials, according to the developers, do not provide any significant advantages in terms of damping or even lose to MDF in these respects. Second, more expensive materials increase the final cost of the product, making it less affordable for a wide range of consumers.
As for the drivers used, Q Acoustics has taken its proven technology from the Concept 500 floorstanding model and improved the performance to fully meet the requirements of the smaller Q Acoustics Concept 300 cabinet.
The midrange/bass driver is a 165 mm diameter impregnated paper cone with very low resonance. The cone is located in front of a large (35 mm) fiberglass voice coil and a powerful ferrite magnet. The 28 mm tweeter is made of ultra-thin coated microfiber strands. The tweeter is placed closer to the woofer and midrange driver for better integration.
