Description
A Tensegrity is a tripod - by definition, an extremely stable structure. They are made of lightweight aluminum tubes (which are the load-bearing element) and thin stainless steel cables (which support the position of the load-bearing tubes). The result is a lightweight, extremely rigid and self-supporting structure with an extremely small surface area and - let's not pretend otherwise - an extremely elegant appearance. It's not so much a speaker stand as it is a completely new concept in loudspeaker support.
But of course, it doesn't matter how efficient your speaker cabinet is, or how ingenious the stand design it works with, if the union between the two is unsympathetic or inefficient. Q Acoustics attaches the Concept 300 to the Tensegrity stand with a new isolation-based suspension system that is as good-looking and efficient as it gets.
The entire weight of the Concept 300 is suspended on four springs of a newly developed integrated base plate. This isolation base system works in several ways: it prevents energy from leaking from the speaker into the Tensegrity rack, which affects the sound, prevents floor vibrations from penetrating from the racks into the speaker, and ensures a rigid connection between the speaker and the rack in all circumstances.
The combination of the Tensegrity stand and the isolation suspension on the base ensures that the Concept 300's performance is not affected by internal or external influences.
