A-40 AE Black
Description
The Pioneer A-40AE amplifier develops 76 W of power per channel (at 4 ohms) and is equipped with an energy saving mode. The Pioneer A-40AE uses branded Direct Energy amplifiers, which generate almost no heat. According to the company, the amplifier is rebuilt to play with minimal distortion and produce a full, clear sound. The Pioneer A-40AE has five line inputs, a MM background input, two digital inputs (optical and coaxial) and a line output. The integrated DAC from Wolfson is ready to process the signal as much as 24 bit/192 kHz. There are also two pairs of speaker outputs on the back panel, and both connected pairs of speakers can be played both separately and in parallel.
Product information
The tone block can be turned off completely. The Power Amp Direct function allows the integrator to operate in power amplifier mode when connected to a separate amplifier, ignoring its own tone block and volume control.
The new Pioneer A-40AE integrated amplifier is designed with the latest trends in stereophonic music reproduction in mind. The A-40AE model is perfect for both beginners and experienced connoisseurs of quality sound. This model combines a comprehensive functional range, high-quality components, the highest build quality and an expressive sound, and it will undoubtedly become a classic in its category.
The efficiency of the output stages of the Direct Energy amplifier allows you to achieve high power (2 x 76 W at a resistance of 4 ohms), while not having a significant negative impact on the environment thanks to reduced energy consumption. Direct Energy amplifiers are characterized by stable and reliable operation due to lower and uniform operating temperatures, which positively affect the service life of components.
The Pioneer A-40AE amplifier is configured to fully minimize the level of distortion, while providing high resolution and sound clarity. Users who are already familiar with the lively and natural sound of Pioneer amplifiers will experience a pleasant feeling of déjà vu when using the new model.
Thanks to its advanced functionality, the Pioneer A-40AE amplifier provides access to a wide range of music sources and satisfies most of the requirements of home audio systems.
In addition to the five level-adjustable analog inputs, there is a vinyl record player input (suitable for connecting moving magnet pickup heads) plus a line output that transmits the signal of the corresponding active source to external recording devices and other components. This output can also be used to feed a signal to an external headphone amplifier, although it should be noted that the Pioneer A-40AE is equipped with its own high-quality headphone output.
Thanks to the presence of two digital inputs (optical and coaxial), it is possible to connect various equipment, for example, devices for streaming sound or TVs with digital outputs, which greatly expands the limited sound reproduction potential of audio systems built into most flat-screen TVs. Due to the fact that the built-in digital-to-analog converter provides a sampling frequency of up to 192 kHz, the ability to listen to high-resolution audio with the help of digital inputs is fully supported.
In this price range, amplifiers with the possibility of connecting two independent pairs of speakers, designed to work both in separate and parallel modes, are rarely found. Both pairs of speakers are connected via heavy-duty, insulated screw terminals designed to accept a 4mm banana plug.
Unlike some early amplifier models with limited functionality, the Pioneer A-40AE amplifier features tone and stereo balance controls completely removed from the signal path to ensure a higher quality sound reproduction. The Power Amp Direct input, also a temporary volume control, allows you to connect an external amplifier.
A special steel chassis provides the amplifier with the best protection against mechanical and electromagnetic interference. The front panel and volume knob are made of aluminum alloy. Powering the internal units of the Pioneer A-40AE amplifier is provided by a source with a large reserve of power using high-quality ELNA capacitors specially designed for Pioneer systems.
