The universal phono stage Pro-Ject Phono Box DS2 is part of the company's updated series of components, featuring an improved design and attractive appearance. The device is made in a metal (aluminum + steel) case, which protects its circuitry from external vibrations and electrical interference. All Pro-Ject Phono Box DS2 controls are located on the front panel and are equipped with clear indications, which increases the ease of use of the device.
The phono preamplifier is built on the “dual mono” principle for optimal separation of stereo channels and reduced crosstalk. The Pro-Ject Phono Box DS2 uses low-noise ICs and an RIAA equalization circuit that converts the input analog signal with high precision. The rear panel of the unit contains two pairs of gold-plated RCA jacks for input and output, as well as trigger jacks (in and out) for remote control.
Using three buttons on the front panel, you can set the input capacitance, resistance and gain of the device, while the selected modes are indicated using miniature LEDs. The Pro-Ject Phono Box DS2's flexible setup allows it to be adapted to work seamlessly with most MM and MC pickups on the market. In addition, the phono stage is equipped with a switchable Subsonic filter to eliminate low-frequency interference.
In addition to the standard black or silver finish, the Pro-Ject Phono Box DS2 is available in a special version with wooden side panels. In this case, the phono stage will be ideally combined in appearance with High-End Pro-Ject players, which have a similar external finish with natural wood veneer.
The phono stage has an open sound with a wide stereo panorama and accurate transmission of the rhythmic pattern. Designed for use with high-end turntables and cartridges, the Pro-Ject Phono Box DS2 delivers the benefits of true analog audio.
