PMC Twenty 21 is the youngest model of the Twenty line from the British manufacturer of high-quality professional and home loudspeakers, PMC. This line, consisting of four speakers, was released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of PMC.

The PMC Twenty 21 features the proprietary ATL (“Advanced Transmission Line”) technology. This is an original type of acoustic design, which is a long labyrinth created by means of partitions inside the speaker cabinet and has an external external opening. The damping material that fills the labyrinth absorbs almost all the sound waves emitted by the woofer/bass driver inside the cabinet, except for the lowest bass. This helps to eliminate acoustic resonances of the cabinet walls and allows you to get deeper and faster bass than in speakers of the same size but with a traditional cabinet design. Speakers with ATL on board do not lose their bass component even at low volume levels.
A special feature of Twenty 21 is a slightly tilted cabinet relative to the vertical axis, which allows to dampen internal standing waves. Its walls are 18 mm thick. The material is fiberboard. There are additional fasteners reinforced in the upper part of the case. The grills are attached with magnets.
The tweeter with a 27 mm diameter Sonolex fabric dome was developed jointly with the Norwegian company SEAS. The bandwidth is 1.8 kHz. The tweeter has a mesh diffuser. All of this contributes to a wide directivity pattern and clearer scene rendering. A 140 mm woofer/midrange driver with an impregnated paper cone, developed on the basis of the drivers used in the Fact line, is included in the system built with ATL™ technology. The system is perfectly damped with an absorbent acoustic material. The crossover is assembled by hand. Its fiberglass printed circuit board has thick copper tracks.
There are four terminals on the rear wall of the case, connected by thin jumpers. The case is finished with natural veneer. The following colors are available: “walnut”, ‘oak’ or veneer in the color of Italian wine ‘Amarone’. A glossy Diamond Black finish is available.
The PMC Twenty 21 model has a more dynamic and deeper sound in comparison with similarly sized competitors, as well as a mellifluous extended sound in the HF area and warmth in the midrange register. It is desirable to use the speakers with the branded stands, which can be purchased for a fee.
