Description
The LX-6 MKII is a 3-way floorstanding speaker with two 6.5" woofers, a 5" midrange driver and a 1" soft dome tweeter.
The LX MKII Series is the latest in a long line of outstanding Mission loudspeakers, joining the multi-award winning QX Series and flagship ZX Series mid-range speakers. The LX MKII features Mission's trademark "Inverted Driver Geometry" design, meaning an optimized path length between the drivers. Unique in this price category, this layout allows a finely tuned crossover to improve transients and impressive detail.
Refined over hundreds of hours of critical listening by Mission's lead acoustic designer, Peter Comeau, the Mission LX MKII uses innovative technology from the venerable ZX series. Improvements to the renowned Mission DiaDrive bass unit provide excellent control over the low-frequency diaphragm, while improved high-frequency performance and a redesigned cabinet mounting system further help create a loudspeaker system that surpasses its price class.
With over 40 years of experience and heritage in British Hi-Fi, the LX MKII embodies Mission's relentless pursuit of improvement and excellence.
One of the important areas highlighted during the development of the Mission ZX and QX models was the use of serrations in the driver circumference to help disperse interfering reflections from localized surfaces onto the dome and cone.
The LX MKII now incorporates these prongs around the driver, adding refinement to the driver outputs and providing a smoother frequency response
With minor distortions in driver response removed, the crossover has been optimized for each model to take advantage of the improved performance
As a result, the LX MKII builds on the winning formula of the LX, both improving clarity
detailing mid and high frequencies and improving the micro-dynamics of musical performance for an even more immersive listening experience
Mission's classic IDG (Inverted Driver Geometry) driver format places the high frequency below the bass/midrange driver, meaning the path length is equalized so the sound waves meet at the height of the listener's head. A patented principle that improves the "time equalization" and therefore the transient performance of Mission speakers
The outstanding new trim options live up to Mission's mantra of combining hi-fi heritage with contemporary design. The LX MKII features a beautiful Walnut Pearl finish and the latest Lux Black and Lux White matte finishes.
The LX MKII is the epitome of affordable high-quality audio, using materials, techniques and technologies you'd only expect to find in other speakers costing many times the price
Whatever music you choose, the LX MKII will reproduce it with extreme accuracy, detail and realism, embodying the traditional Mission adage from the 1970s.
