Product information
The Jamo S 810 Sub cabinet is made in an unusual form factor - with aspect ratios of 5.1:4:2.3, so it takes up less space in the room than a traditional cube. The volume required for low bass reproduction is achieved through a half-meter height. A 10-inch long-throw driver with a synthetic polyfiber cone is mounted on the wide side plane.
It is enclosed by a frame with stretched coarse fabric - the same as that used for grills throughout the Studio 8 series. There are no external elements that would suggest that this object belongs to a sound-producing device. The control panel, mains input and slotted port of the phase-inverter are located at the bottom and are not visible, so theoretically the subwoofer can be placed anywhere and on either side of the audience.
The built-in 75W Class D amplifier (150W peak) coupled with a sensitive head is capable of producing sound pressure of up to 110dB, which is a respectable amount for a subwoofer of this price. The operating range is from 36 to 180 Hz, and the woofer filter frequency is smoothly tuned from 45 Hz to the upper limit. The phase is inverted by a 0/180 degree toggle switch, and there is an automatic switching on when there is a signal at the input. The input is single, linear, mono. The finish of the Jamo S 810 Sub is the same as the entire series, black or white matte, plus dark walnut. Combined with the embossed fabric, the narrow and tall cabinet looks stylish.
