Description
The Klipsch R-101SW subwoofer has relatively small dimensions and is well suited for placement in most standard rooms. The device is made in an MDF case with deep internal damping, reinforced with screeds for vibration damping. The outer casing of the Klipsch R-101SW is made of a dense, scratch-resistant textured film for natural wood.
The subwoofer is equipped with a 10-inch diameter woofer that uses an injection-molded graphite (IMG) diffuser. This high-tech material has advantages over traditionally used for making bass diffusers of paper or polymers in terms of stiffness and weight ratio. The diaphragm with IMG is able to move quickly with a large amplitude without bending and resonance, thanks to which the woofer creates a high sound pressure. The bass driver is mounted on a cast basket and equipped with a powerful magnet. The diffuser is covered with copper spraying, which additionally suppresses unwanted resonances, and also gives the subwoofer an attractive appearance and external similarity with the rest of the acoustics of the Reference series. The load for the speaker is a phase inverter, the output hole of which is located on the back panel.
The Klipsch R-101SW subwoofer is equipped with an order amplifier operating in class D and developing a nominal power of 150 W. Thanks to the precise matching of the woofer and the amplifier, the subwoofer is able to work without distortion even at high volume. To adjust the sound parameters of the Klipsch R-101SW, a standard set of controls is provided. These are signal level controls, filter frequency settings, as well as an absolute phase switch (0/180 degrees). The Klipsch R-100SW has a system of automatic activation when an input signal appears, which simplifies the use of the subwoofer. There is an LED indicator to control the operation mode of the front panel. The subwoofer is equipped with a protective net of small depth, in the presence of which it becomes very noticeable in the interior.
