The AE320 uses three 130mm mid-bass drivers of the latest generation. Featuring a new ceramic-aluminum sandwich cone specially developed for the 300 Series, with an ultra-thin profile and ultra-high power, long-range motor system, this new driver boasts improved dispersion, extended bass response and overall energy efficiency.
The 28mm aluminum tweeter has high power handling and low fundamental resonance to reduce distortion. The main advantage of this new design, however, is the excellent dispersion characteristics thanks to our wide dispersion waveguides. The waveguides shape the tweeter's acoustic output to match that of the woofer and provide a wider reproduction area in your listening environment.
The inert 18mm high-density MDF enclosure utilizes a patented mounting technology borrowed from the award-winning Reference Series to reduce cabinet coloration and allow the new drivers to breathe freely in your listening environment. The slotted air duct on the rear of the speaker enhances bass output and has been carefully designed to reduce the effect of air turbulence, ensuring clean, undistorted bass reproduction. The cabinet base is pre-loaded with inert material that adds damping and reduces cabinet coloration. The mass loading combined with 8mm floor spikes provide stability and create a solid foundation for the speakers to operate without resonance from the cabinet's interaction with the floor.
