SVS SB-1000 Pro Black Ash
Description
The SB-1000 and PB-1000 active subwoofers have become one of the most popular SVS products, but it's time to refresh the 1000 series to the Pro level. The new generation of subwoofers in this series offers significant improvements in the design of the bass driver, integrated amplifier and cabinet. In addition, the new subwoofers are equipped with a sound calibration system inherited from the older 16 Ultra model and controlled via a Bluetooth app for mobile gadgets.
Product information
The new SVS 1000 Pro Series subwoofers are based on the powerful Sledge STA-325D amplifier, whose output stages are based on field-effect MOSFETs capable of delivering high output current. The amplifier provides 325 watts of continuous power with peaks of up to 820 watts with low distortion. For signal processing, a 50-megahertz DSP from Analog Devices with 56-bit filtering is used. Its processing power guarantees impeccable sound quality adapted to the acoustic characteristics of the room.
Dynamic drivers in SVS 1000 Pro subwoofers were developed for the new series from scratch. The drivers are designed with a double ferrite magnet and a parabolic suspension of a long-stroke aluminum cone, which ensure high sound pressure levels in the listening room with a long travel for extreme walks with high room pressure.
When an enclosed subwoofer is equipped with a powerful amplifier and a high-quality driver, you can expect to get deep and clear bass. But only in case of proper control of such a system. To solve this problem, SVS SB-1000 Pro is equipped with a powerful DSP that can be controlled via iOS or Android apps. It has all the settings necessary to get the best sounding bass from the subwoofer.
Two powerful ferrite magnets of the highest class, a magnetic system with a field in the gap, a long voice coil and a rubber suspension with a large amplitude of movement are responsible for minimizing distortion in the SVS SB-1000 Pro emitter. To reduce compression in the magnetic system, a through hole is made to exhaust air from under the center of the cone.
The built-in Sledge STA-325D amplifier operates in Class D and delivers 325 watts in operating mode and more than 800 watts at peak. It has a built-in digital processor that coordinates the speaker with the cabinet and helps to obtain a linear output response. The volume, frequency and phase controls look and function digitally. The SB-1000 Pro has a full set of inputs: stereo low-level and LFE combined with low-level. There is also a stereo low-level output with a fixed cutoff frequency of 80 Hz. The latter will allow you to “unload” the power amplifier even without a processor in the system.
The SVS SB-1000 Pro subwoofer has an automatic standby system and a disconnectable critical input for integration into an automation system. Power consumption in standby mode is 0.5 W, so it is not necessary to completely de-energize the system every time. The subwoofer's heavy and sturdy cabinet looks neat and compact from the outside. Thanks to its rounded case edges and rounded grill, it does not attract attention and dissolves unnoticed in the interior. The only thing that reveals its presence in a darkened room is a bright blue LED that shines through the grill fabric. The grill is firmly attached to the cabinet.
