The REL T5x subwoofer is an updated version of one of the company's most popular models. The device has relatively compact dimensions and a convenient form factor for placement in the interior, and at the same time reproduces deep and elaborate bass. The new model has slightly increased body dimensions compared to its predecessor, which allowed to preserve the main advantage of REL T5x – ease of placement in living space. At the same time, the bass of the subwoofer became a little deeper, and this had a positive effect on the emotional impact of soundtracks of movies or musical compositions.
The REL T5x woofer has a diameter of 8 inches and is equipped with a diffuser made of complex composite material. The suspension of the diffuser in the new model was recalculated taking into account the internal volume of the subwoofer, which has changed, which allowed to preserve the high quality of low frequencies. The bass driver is mounted on a steel chassis and is located on the bottom panel of the case. Thus, its sound waves spread evenly in all directions, regardless of where the REL T5x is installed in the room. The case of the subwoofer is closed, which made it possible to make the bass as fast and refined as possible. To prevent wall vibrations at high volume, the case is reinforced with internal ties. The subwoofer is equipped with a class A/B amplifier with an output power of 125 W.
Line, LFE, and high-level inputs are provided for connection to REL T5x signal sources. In this way, considerable flexibility is achieved in the use of a subwoofer in home theaters or stereo systems. The high-level input on the Neutrik connector is one of the signature features of REL subwoofers. With its help, the subwoofer can be connected to any stereo amplifier, parallel to the main acoustics of the system. This will ensure a consistent sound of the set (the total signal from both channels will be transmitted to the subwoofer), and will also allow you to simultaneously change the volume of the speakers and the subwoofer using the appropriate amplifier control.
