Description
The Sandwich 250 is an impressive 3-way speaker system that combines a 30mm textile-covered dome tweeter, a 108mm sandwich cone midrange driver and a 280mm sandwich diffuser woofer.
The new generation cone, which is responsible for reproducing the middle and low frequencies of the spectrum, consists of an extremely rigid aluminum coating on the outer surfaces, and has been updated and thoroughly redesigned using the lessons of more than six decades of research and development in the field of electroacoustics. A very thick core made of polymethacrylate (PMI) based structural foam is often used in the aerospace and automotive industries.
The tweeter was also the subject of an extensive reconstruction process, including a rear chamber with internal damping to absorb the rear wave of the transducer. This innovation not only isolates the tweeter from the rest of the set, but has the added benefit of lowering its resonant frequency, which in turn increases the level of integration of different areas of the audio spectrum, improving harmonic recovery and therefore analysis capability.
