Description
DS Audio DS-E1 is an optical pickup head complete with DS-E1 corrector.
The principle of operation of the DS-E1 is the same as that of all DS Audio optical heads - a 100 micron mirror is mounted at the rear end of the cantilever, which oscillates to reflect the light flux from a miniature laser LED to the photodetector. This element changes its resistance depending on the degree of illumination, and its modulation is converted into an electrical signal by an analog circuit.

As with DS Audio's more expensive cartridges, the DS-E1's body is made of aluminum and follows their distinctive design for optical efficiency. The DS 002 features an aluminum arm and elliptical needle for accurate reproduction of music recorded on vinyl.
The DS-El has the same mounting mechanism as the DS Master 1, DS-W2 and DS002. It provides high channel resolution and stable music reproduction. In addition, the slit's positioning close to the tip of the needle allows you to obtain information with greater fidelity.
The DS-El's EQ utilizes an operational amplifier, which greatly reduces the number of components required. This also allows the DS-E1 to have an extremely compact form factor, approximately 1/3 the size of the DS-002 EQ, while still delivering the world-leading performance you've come to expect from DS Audio.
