HEARTBEAT

The album Heartbeat is the first full-length record by DOROFEEVA, a collection of her different emotional states, feelings, and experiences that make the heart beat faster. Love, sadness, passion, acceptance, joy, despair… – each of the 12 tracks reflects her heartbeat at different moments in life. For the first time in her career, DOROFEEVA is the songwriter of all the songs on the album. 

All tracks were written under various circumstances – between air raid sirens, shelling, and blackouts, at home, abroad, in different studios… and with different musicians: Stas Chornyi, Anton Chilibi, Pavlo Bilousov, Vlad Libenson, Oleksandr Slinchenko, Vasyl Kozma, Anton Kukri, Serhii Sydorenko, and Hordii Starukh contributed to the creation of the album.  Most of the record, including the already well-known hits “Heartbeat”, “And I Still Cried”, and “Nitroglycerin”, was written in collaboration with Mykhailo Katsurin (11 of the 12 songs were created in their creative partnership) and Ivan Klymenko. 

DOROFEEVA admits that during the darkest times she wrote more uplifting songs,  while in the brightest moments she created more philosophical, reflective tracks.

“This album is my emotional refuge, and songwriting is what saved me from our frightening present reality. During this time, for the first time in my adult life, I truly immersed myself in music, which set me free. Here, you will find many different emotions and states of mine… I allowed myself to accept who I am in all my forms, to trust myself, to be myself – imperfect. I finally allowed myself to open my soul and simply speak through my songs. And I truly hope they will not only be liked, but will also have the power to help in some way, to inspire important thoughts, so that while listening to them, one can both cry  and smile” – DOROFEEVA.
