Description
Bookshelf speaker system, 2 bands: LF 133 mm, HF 25 mm, speaker, impedance 6 Ohm, frequency range 54 Hz - 26 kHz, sensitivity 84.5 dB, dimensions 170 x 292 x 238 mm, weight 4.2 kg.
DALI Spektor 2 speaker systems are an enlarged version of the younger model and have an expanded low frequency range and are also capable of developing higher sound pressure. These speakers will be an excellent choice for a stereo system in a medium-sized room, where for some reason it is undesirable to place floor-standing speakers, but it is desirable to get dynamic and rich sound.
The speakers are made in fiberboard cases with external finishing with high-quality vinyl film, which very accurately imitates natural wood (black ash or walnut). In the models of this series, DALI engineers have implemented several proprietary concepts, and one of them is the formation of a wide polar pattern of the speakers. Due to the geometry of the front panel and the characteristics of the speakers, it was possible to obtain a stereo image that is effectively perceived over a wide area. This is a very valuable quality for home acoustics, which cannot always be positioned ideally in relation to the listeners. In addition, the DALI Spektor 2 speakers, like the other models in the series, are very friendly to the connected amplifier and do not require too high input power to generate the nominal sound pressure. Stable impedance despite the relatively low sensitivity makes these speakers a good partner even for budget stereo amplifiers or AV receivers.
The DALI Spektor 2 features a fabric dome tweeter that is almost half the weight of comparable drivers from other manufacturers. Due to this, it was possible to expand the range of reproduced frequencies and reduce audible distortion, including at high sound volumes. The base on which the tweeter is mounted not only dampens parasitic vibrations, but also serves as a sound guide, leveling its directional pattern and increasing operating efficiency. The bass driver in the DALI Spektor 2 is equipped with a 5.25-inch diameter wood-paper cone loaded onto a bass reflex. The latter is located on the rear panel directly opposite the woofer to optimize the passage of the sound flow with a minimum noise level.
