Description
The design of Chord Clearway is based on the same solutions that were used in the famous C-series models, but this cable is made using improved components. The conductors in Chord Clearway have an increased cross-section and are made of oxygen-free copper of a high degree of purification. The patented ARAY shape effectively combats phase distortion, making the sound natural and transparent. Chord Clearway uses fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) as a dielectric, which is very close to Teflon in terms of its characteristics. This material not only has excellent insulating properties, but is also completely chemically inert, i.e. it does not have a negative effect on the conductor.
For reliable protection even against intense external electrical interference in a wide frequency range, Chord Clearway uses two-layer shielding. One of the screens in the cable is made of foil, and the other is a copper braid. Chord Clearway is equipped with proprietary RCA connectors with straight silver plating, which are mounted on the cable with high precision. This cable is assembled by hand at Chord's factory in the UK.
The cable connectors are conveniently color-coded to facilitate proper connection. This model has a connection direction (from source to amplifier), which is also indicated on its outer jacket.
