Description
The X1 technologies are also borrowed from the older Børresen M, O and Z series of speakers. On board is the same Børresen X-Series ribbon tweeter, which is also used in the smallest Børresen X2 floorstanding speakers announced in October, and a midrange woofer with an aramid mesh reinforced carbon diaphragm. The design of the new product also draws on the work of Børresen's subsidiary Aavik.

These speakers are based on all the knowledge gained from the M, 0 and Z series. You'll find components from these exclusive series in the Børresen X Series - such as the all-new Spread-tow carbon membrane, the highly acclaimed Børresen ribbon tweeter and the use of copper caps in the magnetic motor system.
The X series membrane consists of three layers laminated into a single unit: two layers of stretched carbon fiber, between which is a layer of aramid honeycomb gaskets. The combination of these materials gives the membrane its unique properties. The stretched carbon fiber was designed to provide optimal stiffness. This unique feature of the membrane reduces vibrations and resonances that interfere with sound to an unprecedented level.
The tweeter chosen for the Børresen X Series is the same design as in all other Børresen speaker series. However, the weight of the magnet and iron has been reduced. This was made possible by the extremely high efficiency of the original tweeter design. As a result, the efficiency has only slightly decreased from an exceptional 94 dB to 90 dB, but this is still an amazing figure for a tweeter. The tweeter operates from approximately 2.5 kHz and above. The mass of the moving part is extremely small - 0.01 grams. The fully hidden tweeter can operate at an impressive speed. The high robustness of this tweeter allows it to cope with very high transients without causing deafening dips.
The Børresen X-Series is equipped with a parallel crossover built with the same high-quality components as the Z-Series. This makes the crossover very mechanically stable and minimizes its self-resonance.
