**SKAI** is a Ukrainian pop rock band from Ternopil. Formed in 2001 by students Oleh Sobchuk and Oleksandr Hryshchuk, along with Yuri Rudnytsky on bass and Serhiy Nedashkovsky on drums, with Yuriy Mozil joining on keyboards in 2005. The band began performing at festivals like Perlyny Sezonu, Tavriyski Ihry, and Chervona Ruta, gaining wider recognition through the Ukrainian TV channel M1's Fresh Blood program, which led to a signing with Lavina Music. In 2005, they updated their name to S.K.A.I. and released tracks like «Тебе це може вбити» («It Can Kill You»), «Remix», and «Те, що треба» («What You Need») on 25 Ukrainian radio stations, with music videos following. Their debut album «Те, що треба» («What You Need») came out in 2006, featuring the hit «Тебе це може вбити», which became their signature song and brought nationwide fame. The third album «!» («Exclamation Mark») was released in 2010, including popular tracks like «Пам'ятай» («Remember»), «Любов» («Love»), «Світло» («Light»), and the title track, with collaborations featuring Pikkardiyska Tertsiya and Green Grey; Arthur Danielyan produced their first three albums. In 2016, they released «Нове життя» («New Life»), with «Мелодія серця» («Melody of the Heart») as the main soundtrack for the Ukrainian TV series «Маршрути Долі» («Destiny Routes»), and «Wanted» (English version «Wonderwall») for the award-winning short film Wonderwall. A 2021 compilation «Skai 20» celebrated their 20-year history with their best songs, and they performed at Ukraine's largest stadium for the 30th anniversary of independence, playing «Тебе це може вбити». That autumn, they released the single «Крила» («Wings») with a symphonic orchestra and held a 20th-anniversary concert in Kyiv featuring 15 hits with orchestra and choir. Earlier singles include «Take It» in 2020 and «Do not retreat and do not give up», dedicated to activist Danylo Didyk. Other popular songs mentioned include «Legkovazhna» and «Davai vtechemo».
