Sasha Siem is a British-Norwegian singer, songwriter and composer whose work sits at the intersection of art pop, experimental electronics and contemporary classical music. Born in London to a British-Norwegian family, she is now based in London.

Siem studied music and poetry at Cambridge and Harvard and, before establishing herself as a recording artist, wrote music for the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Opera House and other major institutions. In 2010, she became one of the youngest recipients of the British Composer Award. Her debut album, Most of the Boys, was released in 2015 and was written for voice and string quartet. It was followed by Bird Burning (2016), wHOLeY (2020) and EAR.th (2023).

What makes Sasha Siem distinctive is the way she combines the sophistication of classical composition with the accessibility of contemporary pop. Her albums are often built around strong concepts and explore themes such as love, femininity, healing and humanity’s relationship with nature.
