Love and Death is an American Christian metal band from Phoenix, Arizona, founded by guitarist and vocalist Brian “Head” Welch, best known as a former member of Korn. The band's music combines nu metal, alternative metal and Christian rock, characterized by heavy guitar riffs and emotionally driven themes.

The band developed after Welch left Korn in 2005 and began working on a solo project under his own name. The project eventually evolved into Love and Death. The band's first major release was the album Between Here & Lost, released in 2013. The record reflected Welch's return to a heavier, guitar-focused sound and established the foundation for the band's later work.

A major milestone came with the album Perfectly Preserved, released in 2021 through Earache Records. The record combines modern metal with the nu-metal influence associated with Welch's earlier career. It features several guest vocalists, including Lacey Sturm, former vocalist of Flyleaf, and Keith Wallen of Breaking Benjamin. Notable tracks include “White Flag”, “The Hunter” and “Down”.

Collaborations have played an important role in Love and Death's development. The band has worked with artists from across the alternative and metal scenes, allowing Welch's signature guitar style to interact with different vocal approaches. At the same time, the project retains a strong connection to Christian themes, which have remained central to Welch's artistic journey.
