Kurgan & Agregat (Курган & Agregat) is a Ukrainian alternative hip hop group from the village of Bliznyuky in Kharkiv Oblast. They blend hip hop rhythms with modern electronic and traditional sounds, creating expressive, emotionally charged music that addresses identity, social issues, and personal hardships. Originating from rural Eastern Ukraine, the group gained fame through a YouTube channel depicting local life, fights, simple feelings, and ordinary experiences with primitive beats, evolving into one of Ukraine's prominent rap acts capable of drawing thousands. They built a devoted fanbase with thought-provoking lyrics and standout songs like "Postrizhis' iak v proshlii raz" (Get a haircut like last time), "Kent pidaras" (Kent scoundrel), "Zhopa" (2020), "V stavku korabli" (2020), "Filosofs'kii klubniak" (2020), "Pod stolom" (2019), "Kalinka," "Na Paltsi," "Kino," "Valka," and "Energy." Key releases include their most recent album "Zembondzhu" (2021), which showcases versatility by mixing hip hop beats with electronic influences. They performed at major Ukrainian festivals such as Rock Bulava, Respublica FEST, Faine Misto (sharing stages with Bring Me The Horizon and Tom Walker), Atlas Weekend (a highlight with ecstatic crowds), and Zaxidfest (alongside O.Torvald and The Hardkiss), earning praise for their innovative style and contagious live energy. What makes Kurgan & Agregat unique is their raw, avant-garde fusion of alternative hip hop that pushes genre boundaries while staying rooted in everyday Ukrainian realities, combined with post-2022 wartime volunteerism—raising tens of millions of hryvnias (nearly €400,000 from a 2025 Ukrainian tour alone) for the Ukrainian army through drones, cars, thermal imagers, and 100% tour profits, even amid gig bans and air raid interruptions like their one-song 2022 show drenched in pig's blood. Members including Amil Nasirov and Ramil Nasirov prioritize converting fame into military aid, maintaining creativity through European tours solely for fundraising.
