Frank Iero and the Patience is an American rock band from New Jersey, led by singer and guitarist Frank Iero, best known as the rhythm guitarist of My Chemical Romance. The project combines punk rock, post-hardcore, alternative rock and emo.
The project began as Iero's solo venture under the name Frnkiero and the Cellabration. His debut album, Stomachaches, was released in 2014, and the project was renamed Frank Iero and the Patience in 2016. Later that year, the band released Parachutes, its first album under the new name. Notable tracks include “I'm a Mess,” “Oceans,” “World Destroyer,” and “Veins! Veins!! Veins!!!”.
The band followed the album with the Keep the Coffins Coming EP in 2017, produced by acclaimed producer and engineer Steve Albini.
What makes Frank Iero and the Patience distinctive is their raw and intensely personal sound, combining punk energy with emotional vocals and introspective songwriting. Unlike the larger-scale sound of My Chemical Romance, the project gave Iero room to explore a more direct, intimate and experimental musical identity.
