Brooks & Dunn are an American country music duo formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1990. The group consists of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn. Their sound combines traditional country, honky-tonk and rock influences, helping establish them as one of the most successful duos in the history of country music.

Brooks & Dunn came together after Arista Records executive Tim DuBois introduced the two musicians and encouraged them to work as a duo. In 1991, they released their debut album, Brand New Man, which immediately launched them to stardom. Four songs from the album — “Brand New Man,” “My Next Broken Heart,” “Neon Moon” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” — reached No. 1 on the country charts. The latter also helped fuel the line-dancing craze that swept across the United States in the early 1990s.

The duo continued their success with albums including Hard Workin’ Man (1993), Waitin’ on Sundown (1994), Borderline (1996), Steers & Stripes (2001) and Red Dirt Road (2003). Their best-known songs include “My Maria,” “Ain’t Nothing ’Bout You,” “Only in America,” “Believe” and “Red Dirt Road.” Overall, Brooks & Dunn have achieved 20 No. 1 country singles.

After ending their regular partnership in the late 2000s, Brooks and Dunn pursued solo careers before eventually reuniting. In 2019, they released Reboot, an album that reimagined their classic songs through collaborations with contemporary country artists including Luke Combs, Kacey Musgraves and Kane Brown. A sequel, Reboot II, followed in 2024.

Throughout their career, Brooks & Dunn have won two Grammy Awards, 19 Country Music Association Awards and 30 Academy of Country Music Awards. They were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019. With more than 30 million albums sold, they are regarded as the best-selling country duo of all time.
