A Static Lullaby is an American band from Chino Hills, California, known for blending post-hardcore, screamo, emo and alternative rock. Formed in 2001 following a high-school jam session, the band quickly developed a reputation on the Southern California underground scene.

The band's first release was the Withered EP, which helped attract the attention of Ferret Records, with whom A Static Lullaby signed in 2002. Their debut full-length album, ...And Don't Forget to Breathe, arrived in 2003 and established the group's core sound: aggressive guitar work, screamed vocals and melodic choruses. Notable tracks from the album include “The Shooting Star That Destroyed Us” and “Lipgloss and Letdown”, both of which received music videos.

In 2005, the band released its second album, Faso Latido, through Columbia Records. Following lineup changes and the end of their relationship with the label, A Static Lullaby signed with Fearless Records. Their self-titled third album arrived in 2006, bringing the band back toward a more aggressive post-hardcore approach while incorporating stronger metalcore influences. Songs such as “Hang 'Em High” and “The Art of Sharing Lovers” became highlights of this era.

The band's fourth studio album, Rattlesnake!, was released in 2008. It featured tracks including “The Prestige” and “Scavenger Hunt”, as well as a distinctive cover of Britney Spears' “Toxic” for Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 2. The cover became one of the group's most recognizable recordings and remains among their most popular tracks on streaming platforms.

What makes A Static Lullaby distinctive is their ability to balance hardcore intensity with accessible melody. Their songs frequently alternate between screamed vocals and clean singing, creating a strong contrast between aggression and emotional vulnerability. The band became a recognizable part of the American post-hardcore scene of the 2000s, capturing the era's blend of screamo, emo and heavy alternative rock.

In 2024–2026, A Static Lullaby returned to live activity, bringing renewed attention to their early material. In May 2026, the band also released ...And Don't Forget to Breathe (Live), a live version of their influential debut album.
