The RX-A6A delivers 150 watts per channel in 9.2 format, while supporting 11.2-channel audio processing with corresponding outputs for amplification. The heart of the system is the company's Surround:AI technology, which analyzes video content in real time and automatically optimizes sound parameters for each scene. Quiet dialogue, an explosion in a blockbuster, a concert hall - the receiver knows how it should sound and reacts before you have time to feel it.
Support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D with neural upmixers allows you to create a full-fledged three-dimensional sound dome - even if your acoustics are not purely Atmos-compatible: the Height Virtualization function "completes" the height programmatically.
Digital-to-analog conversion is performed by the flagship ESS SABRE ES9026PRO chip — 384 kHz / 32 bit with Hyperstream architecture, which provides exceptionally low noise and wide dynamic range. Yamaha has reduced the length of signal paths compared to the previous generation by more than half — the result is faster, more accurate and more stable signal transmission.
The proprietary Cinema DSP HD3 technology reproduces the acoustics of real halls — from chamber concert venues to large cinemas — taking into account the three-dimensional sound distribution.
The RX-A6A is equipped with seven inputs and three HDMI outputs, three of which are HDMI 2.1 standard with support for 4K / 120 Hz and 8K / 60 Hz video. One of the HDMI outputs is with eARC for maximum quality of the return audio channel from the TV. HDR formats are supported: HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG. Upscaling to 8K is done in hardware — even from standard and component sources.
Automatic calibration YPAO R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) measures the acoustics of the room at several points, analyzes early sound reflections and adjusts the parametric equalizer and volume levels for each channel. A separate low-frequency mode allows you to precisely match the subwoofer to the system. The result is sound optimized specifically for your space, not averaged for a “typical room”.
The RX-A6A case is built on a rigid H-Frame frame with a massive multi-section metal lid. The fifth leg — the company's A.R.T. Wedge (Anti Resonance Technology) — is located in the center of the bottom and dampens vibrations from the transformer and transistors, preventing them from penetrating the audio circuit. The amplifier modules and power supply are physically isolated from the audio circuits inside the chassis. Every detail is designed with one goal in mind: complete silence where there is no sound.
Built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 make the RX-A6A the hub of a Yamaha MusicCast multi-room system. Voice control is supported via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Siri. Four SCENE buttons let you program your favourite sources and sound modes for instant access. An analogue phono input opens the door to vinyl too.
