R-N803 Black
Description
AV receiver, power 2 x 140 W (8 Ohm), AM/FM tuner, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, headphone output, 2 pairs of speakers, dimensions (WxHxD) 435x151x392 mm, weight 11 kg, color: black
The receiver is equipped with a DAC from ESS Saber, which is ready to process audio in 24 bit/192 kHz PCM and DSD up to 5.6 MHz. For owners of turntables there is a phono input, for owners of other sources - a pair of optical inputs and the same number of coaxial ones, plus USB for flash drives and external hard drives. Also, the network receiver, which is logical, can be connected to a home network via Ethernet and Wi-Fi. The outputs include a subwoofer, headphone and trigger jack.
The central place on the front panel of the Yamaha R-N803, made of metallized plastic that skillfully imitates brushed aluminum, is given to a large information display. Below it, like soldiers in a guard of honor, lined up flat knobs for tone controls, channel balance and loudness. To the left of them is a rotary input switch, and to the right is a joystick for navigating the system menu. With its help, it is convenient to scroll through the lists on the display and select any item from them, be it a menu section or a music track. There is also a large volume control, a Pure Direct button, a USB port for quickly connecting external drives, a speaker switch and a headphone output.
MusicCast technology is fully compatible with high-resolution audio - supporting FLAC, WAV formats up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, as well as DSD. The support for various wireless data transmission channels is also noteworthy, which greatly expands the choice of components for your multiroom system. MusicCast technology can use not only a Wi-Fi network, but also Bluetooth as a wireless data transmission medium. In addition, you can connect system components with regular twisted pair cables via Ethernet. Finally, you can stream music from your mobile phone or tablet directly to the receiver - either via Bluetooth using the A2DP protocol, or via Wi-Fi via AirPlay. It is possible to play audio files from external drives with a USB interface.
Digital-to-analog conversion is entrusted to the SABER 9006AS 192 kHz / 24-bit DAC chip, capable of processing not only a PCM stream with 24-bit / 192 kHz parameters, but also material in the DSD format. The output stages of the receiver are made using pairs of transistors A1695 / C4468 from Sanken. To cool them, a cast finned radiator is used, which occupies a central place inside the receiver body. Power supply is provided by a large and heavy transformer from Bando.
Compatible sources include networked PCs and network attached storage devices with DLNA, mobile devices with wireless Apple AirPlay or Bluetooth, and several streaming services including Spotify, Pandora, Deezer, Napster, SiriusXM Internet Radio, TIDAL and numerous free Internet radio stations. The R-N803 also plays multiple high-resolution formats, including 192 kHz/24-bit FLAC, WAV and AIFF, and 2.8/5.6 MHz DSD.
