Description
WiiM came to the world of smart speakers not from another startup, but with a solid reputation: years of streamers and amplifiers that the audiophile community admired. Sound is the brand's first own speaker, and it immediately sets the standard. Not a voice assistant in a beautiful case, but a full-fledged Hi-Res device with character, an ecosystem and an idea of how music should sound at home.
Product information
The cylindrical body with a fabric cover and polycarbonate with fiberglass houses a two-way three-component system inside: a 4-inch woofer with a long-throw cone receives 50 watts and is responsible for the entire range up to 2.4 kHz, where two 1-inch silk dome tweeters of 25 watts each are connected to the work. Total peak power is 100 watts. Frequency range is 50 Hz - 20 kHz. Precise band distribution and independent amplification of each driver ensure low intermodulation distortion and natural tonal balance at all volume levels.
The main difference between WiiM Sound and Sound Lite is the built-in round color touch display with a diameter of 1.8 inches. It displays album covers, playback source, presets and EQ settings. A few swipes - and you change the input, adjust the sound or switch between profiles without the phone in your hands. The top panel with capacitive sensors controls playback and volume, illuminating when your hand approaches.
Support for playback up to 24-bit / 192 kHz is a standard that exceeds the capabilities of most competitors in its class. Wireless connections: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 (SBC, AAC, LD3), Ethernet 100 Mbps. A 3.5 mm analog input leaves room for external sources. Streaming compatibility includes Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Google Cast, Alexa Cast, DLNA, Roon, LMS - over 20 platforms in total.
The AI RoomFit room correction system measures the acoustics of a specific space using the smartphone's microphone and applies digital frequency response correction to the placement conditions. For fine-tuning, a 10-band graphic equalizer, parametric EQ and 24 ready-made presets are available. Smart Preset lets you save separate sound profiles for each source — streaming, radio, or analog input.
Two WiiM Sound form a wireless stereo pair with full channel distribution. Add a WiiM Sub Pro for a 2.1 system. Integrate with a WiiM Amp Ultra or WiiM Ultra for a rear or center speaker in a Dolby 5.1 configuration. Multiroom grouping is controlled via the WiiM Home app with any other ecosystem devices. Regular OTA firmware updates expand capabilities without replacing hardware.
