The Volumio Primo V2 is a second breath of life for one of the brand's most popular products: a completely reimagined design by Red Dot Award-winning Design Narratives, featuring an anti-magnetic aluminum body and a dark wood-textured front panel. It's a ready-made solution for those who already have an amplifier or powered speakers and want to add a high-quality DAC-streamer to their system.
Primo is equipped with a top DAC from the SABRE line — ESS 9038Q2M — in a differential configuration, connected via I2S directly to the digital input. This solution minimizes jitter and noise in the signal path, and the internal board is designed with short and clean signal paths.
The "brain" of Primo is the latest Amlogic quad-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.9 GHz and 2 GB of RAM, which ensures fast and stable operation of the proprietary Volumio OS without delays and interface freezes.
The device offers both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA audio outputs, as well as a digital coaxial S/PDIF output for using Primo as a separate streamer with an external DAC. There is also an HDMI port for connecting an external monitor, two USB ports and a microSD card slot.
All Volumio products are Roon Ready certified by Roon Labs, ensuring seamless integration with the platform. Primo provides access to your favorite music services, playback from local or network drives, and internet radio.
