Thanks to the massive removable aluminum headshell, the tonearm has an increased effective mass of about 18 g, which makes it the optimal partner for medium and low-responsive MC pickups that can unleash their potential in combination with a heavier, well-damped design.
The tilt angle (VTA) is adjusted by two screw-in screws that raise the tonearm parallel to the plane of the record. Anti-skating is set magnetically through precision threads - this gives a smooth, repeatable adjustment without mechanical wear over time. The aluminum alloy counterweight is equipped with replaceable additional weights for a specific cartridge.
TRA Studio is equipped with Van den Hul proprietary wiring with silver-plated cartridge connection tips and a fixed Van den Hul 502 signal cable. A choice of RCA or XLR connectors with high-conductivity WBT coating is available.
The model is available in 9- and 12-inch versions and is compatible with all 9-inch SME bases manufactured by Transrotor (via an additional adapter if necessary).
