TD 403 DD Black

With the new model TD 403 DD, Thorens completes the line of direct-drive turntables of the 400 series, which are created according to the principle of "plug and play". Visually a true Thorens device, the new TD 403 DD features the same proven Smooth Direct Drive as the successful TD 402 DD, but differs from its smaller sibling with a more massive cast aluminum disc weighing 1.4kg and 22mm thick, as well as an audiophile that also uses in the new TD 1500 model.

Also included as standard is a high-quality and pre-configured 2M Blue cartridge from Danish cartridge specialist Ortofon. 2M Blue, thanks to the open diamond with an elliptical stylus, is a worthy playing partner for such a high-level player as the TD 403 DD.

The TD 403 DD is delivered completely ready for use. It is only necessary to place the support disk on the axis, balance the tonearm, and also adjust the clamping force and anti-skating. There is no need to wear a belt, because there is simply no belt. When the needle of the head reaches the end of the recording, the system detects this and stops the rotation.

The player comes with a dust cover and a solid MDF base on damping black rubber feet with silver rings. The combination with the top panel of polished aluminum emphasizes the noble appearance of the player.

The new TP 150 tonearm is also used in the recently introduced Thorens TD 1500 model and is similar to the TP 124 tonearm used in the new TD 124 DD model. It has an effective mass of 15 grams, is adjustable in height and azimuth and is equipped with a standard SME connector, which allows you to easily change heads or install other cartridges. Anti-skating is adjusted by a sliding load from a lever that is adjustable on a nylon thread passing through a ruby bearing.
