Description
Some things don't need reinvention. The RP-DJ1200 was launched in 1996 and has remained the go-to choice for DJs around the world for over twenty years - not because of marketing, but because it simply worked better than the rest. The EAH-DJ1200 is not nostalgia for the classics, but their conscious evolution: the same logic, updated engineering and a new chapter in a history that is now unmatched in terms of duration.
The EAH-DJ1200’s sound is based on a new 40mm CCAW (copper-wound aluminum) voice coil. This design combines low mass with high rigidity, which delivers clear, balanced sound from low to high — without blurring in the lows or harshness in the highs. The 2500mW (IEC) power handling rating means the headphones won’t break at club volume: that’s what they’re made for.
The EAH-DJ1200’s proprietary swivel earcup system is the same mechanism that made the RP-DJ1200 the industry standard. The 270° angle allows you to monitor with one ear in any position: pressed to your ear, pulled to the side, or placed on your shoulder. A lock is provided to lock the headphones in place — they won’t shift during use, even with sudden movements. Folds compactly for transport and storage in the included case.
One of the key improvements compared to its predecessor is the detachable cable with a locking mechanism. Rotate 90° and it is securely fixed, will not accidentally disconnect in the middle of the set. The kit includes two cables: straight (1.2 m) and spiral (1.5 m) with an adapter. The cables are easy to clean and replace - a practical detail that will be appreciated by those who know the price of reliability in operation.
The ear cushions and headband are covered with a material that is resistant to sweat and long-term wear. The total weight without the cable is about 233 g: light enough not to tire even after many hours of work. The black matte finish echoes the aesthetics of the SL-1200MK7 - not a coincidence, but a conscious decision by Technics to make the DJ line a single whole.
