The TEAC TN-5BB vinyl record player has a massive two-layer chassis consisting of MDF and marble slab. A special Japanese paper is used as a layer between them, which has unique mechanical characteristics. Such a design, the total weight of which is about 9 kg, perfectly resists any resonances and vibrations, and is an excellent basis for the entire design of the player. At the same time, the support bearing of the disk and the tonearm are installed on the upper marble plate, and the motor is on the lower plate made of MDF, thanks to which the mechanical components of the player are uncoupled. The device has height-adjustable damping supports.

In the appearance of this model, the black color of the chassis and the silver tonearm and other structural elements are perfectly combined. A special optical sensor for controlling the speed of its rotation is installed in the player. With the help of an electronic circuit, it is maintained at a given value. The TEAC TN-5BB model has all three turntable speeds – 33, 45 and 78 rpm.

The TEAC TN-5BB uses a 20mm thick acrylic backing disc weighing 1.7kg, which has significant inertia to maintain a stable rotation speed. You can put a record on such a disk without an additional mat, and it will not only ensure its good mechanical damping, but also prevent the accumulation of static electricity.

The player is equipped with an S-shaped tonearm, the extension of which is supplemented with an electric drive and is controlled by pressing a button. The tonearm is manufactured with the participation of the SAEC company and has high-end cable wiring. Ortofon 2M Red cartridge is supplied as standard. At the same time, thanks to the availability of TEAC TN-5BB not only conventional, but also balanced XLR-outputs, this device is excellent for installation and low-level MC-recorders. The TEAC TN-5BB model has an automatic tonearm lift (with the possibility of disabling this function), which is triggered by the command of a non-contact optical sensor.
