The turntable has a chassis made of MDF, which has a significant weight and good anti-vibration characteristics. In order to obtain a rigid chassis structure without increasing its thickness, the base of the TEAC TN-3B has a honeycomb structure. The turntable is mounted on aluminum supports, damped with rubber inserts, which provide good protection against external vibrations.
The TEAC TN-3B is equipped with 33rpm or 45rpm electronically switchable platter speed, which is sure to please owners of large music collections. The platter in this model is made of aluminum and has a significant mass to maintain a stable rotation speed. The high-end S-shaped arm in the TEAC TN-3B is custom-made by renowned SAEC and mounted on a precision bearing. The tonearm has all the necessary settings and is equipped with a standard shell, so that a variety of cartridges can be installed on the player. The TEAC TN-3B has an Audio-Technica AT-VM95E cartridge as a standard head.
The player has a built-in high-end MM-phono stage, based on low-noise NJM8080 chips. Thus, TEAC TN-3B can be connected directly to the line inputs of integrated amplifiers or AV receivers. However, if desired, the built-in circuit can be disabled, and the signal can be taken directly from the pickup - this will allow, for example, to install an MC cartridge on the player.
