Product information
Released for the 60th anniversary of the Rotel brand, the Rotel A12 MKII integrated amplifier replaces its predecessor, the A12, in the company's lineup. The device received improved circuitry. At the same time, all elements of the schemes are carefully selected through numerous test hearings. High-quality capacitors, metal film resistors and other components designed specifically for audio are installed in the amplifier circuits, and the use of new technology for the layout of printed circuit boards has contributed to the minimization of noise and other distortions. Many technical solutions and innovations were borrowed from models of older lines, such as Michi and others.
Rotel engineers made twelve changes to the power amplifier cascade. The model also received a new processor and a set of digital interface chips, and instead of the 24-bit Wolfson DAC installed in the predecessor, the Rotel A12 MKII now uses a new 32-bit premium Texas Instruments chip.
"Integral" works in AB-class and has a proprietary low-impedance power toroidal transformer installed in the power supply unit, which guarantees a minimum amount of interference and allows to provide a power of 60 W per channel at an eight-ohm load. For vinyl lovers, there is an MM-phono-corrector board on board, and the built-in Bluetooth module with aptX codec support is responsible for the wireless functions of the device. The model supports Roon Tested certification, which opens up the possibility of interaction with the universal interactive streaming platform Roon.
An asynchronous USB port located on the rear panel of the case allows you to connect to a computer and use the amplifier as an external DAC capable of working with a PCM signal up to 32 bits/384 kHz. The rear panel also has a pair of optical and coaxial S/PDIF input jacks, a set of RCA line inputs, phono jacks, and one more USB port that's only for power and battery charging of portable devices. There is a Pre Out output, an IR port, two sockets for connection via a proprietary bus, a pair of trigger outputs and an RS-232 interface. 4 pairs of screw terminals are used to connect the speaker, allowing you to organize a two-wire connection.
The amplifier received a low body, made of metal and corresponding to the concept of slim design. The case is equipped with anti-vibration feet, and on the front panel there is an LCD display, function buttons, volume control, mini-jack for headphones and USB for iPhone/iPad/iPod. A remote control (included in the package) is provided to control the Rotel A12 MKII. The amplifier is available in two finishes (silver or black).
According to the manufacturer, the sound of the Rotel A12 MKII is characterized by exceptional accuracy, expressiveness and a large amount of detail, as well as a wide and deep soundstage.
