Description
There are turntables that simply play vinyl. And there are those that reveal it completely - with all the nuances, space and dynamics inherent in the recording. The Reloop Turn X belongs to the second type. It is the flagship model of the Reloop HiFi line, built around one idea: maximum playback accuracy without unnecessary noise - neither mechanical nor electrical. Quartz direct drive with a 16-pole brushless motor, a massive milled disc, an adjustable VTA tonearm and an Ortofon 2M Blue included - the Turn X is ready to work right away, and at a level that is difficult to achieve in this price range.
Product information
At the heart of the Turn X is a quartz-controlled DC motor with direct top drive: 16-pole, 3-phase, brushless. The torque exceeds 4500 g/cm - an indicator more associated with club DJ turntables than with HiFi players, but it is he who provides lightning-fast start (less than 0.3 seconds) and complete speed stability during playback. Speed deviation is less than ±0.03%, detonation and unevenness indicator is less than 0.1% WRMS (JIS WTD), signal-to-noise ratio is more than 60 dB (DIN-B). Three speeds are supported: 33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm.
Control is completely manual: a single rotary switch is both a start/stop button and speed selection. The built-in electronic brake stops the disc clearly and without jerks.
The Turn X disc is a separate conversation. The cast aluminum platter, 305 mm in diameter and 22.5 mm thick, weighs 2.1 kg and is CNC-milled to achieve perfect balance. It rests on a solid aluminum block, which ensures absolutely smooth, beat-free rotation. The back surface of the platter is covered with a damping rubber coating, and on top is a special 5 mm rubber mat. The design with a recessed niche for the platter additionally stabilizes its seating. The result is a minimum of vibrations transmitted from the bearing and floor to the needle.
The statically balanced S-shaped Turn X tonearm has a height adjustment function (VTA) in the range of 0–6 mm - a feature rarely found in this price category. Changing the VTA allows you to precisely set the angle of attack of the stylus relative to the record and get optimal tracking for cartridges of different shapes and sizes. The effective length of the tonearm is 230 mm, the projection is 15 mm, the tracking error angle is less than 3°. The anti-skating mechanism is adjustable in the range of 0–3 g. The cartridge connection is according to the SME standard; the permissible weight (with headshell) is 17–25 g.
The Turn X comes with an Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge already installed on the headshell. This is one of the most famous MM cartridges in the HiFi sector: elliptical needle with a radius of r/R 8/18 μm, output voltage 5.5 mV, frequency response 20–20,000 Hz, channel resolution at 1 kHz — 25 dB. The recommended pressing force is 1.8 g. The player is ready to produce full HiFi sound right out of the box.
The Turn X chassis is made of solid high-density MDF - a material that effectively absorbs resonances and does not transmit them to the tonearm. Height-adjustable shock-absorbing feet provide isolation from floor and furniture vibrations. The body is covered with a "black piano" varnish - deep, glossy, without any unnecessary elements on the top panel: only the rotary switch and tonearm.
The phono output and ground terminal are gold-plated. An internal switching power supply with an ultra-low noise circuit additionally protects the analog circuit from electromagnetic interference. Power and RCA cables are negative.
