The basis of the Turn 3 MK2 is a synchronous belt drive from a low-vibration DC motor. The motor is physically separated from the disk: the drive belt transmits rotation without direct mechanical contact, which minimizes the transmission of noise and vibrations into the sound path.
A feature of the Turn 3 MK2 among belt players is the electronic switching of three speeds: 33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm with a large rotary control without the need to manually adjust the belt. Even playing shellac 78-rpm records is within reach, provided that the appropriate cartridge is used.
The Turn 3 MK2 is equipped with a semi-automatic stop mechanism: after the recording is finished, the player automatically stops the disk - the needle does not "reach" the center of the record without supervision. For those who prefer completely manual playback, the function can be turned off. The hydraulic tonearm lift provides smooth lowering and raising of the needle in any mode.
The Turn 3 MK2 straight tonearm has been redesigned specifically for this model. The headshell connection is according to the SME/GM standard. Anti-skating is infinitely adjustable using a rotary wheel.
The set includes an Ortofon 2M Red, already installed on the headshell. The player is ready to play immediately after adjusting the counterweight.
The Turn 3 MK2 has a built-in phono equalizer with switching between Phono and Line modes. The USB output (type B) allows you to digitize vinyl in 48 kHz / 16 bit quality on a PC or Mac - convenient for those who want to save their collection in a digital archive.
The chassis is made of solid MDF and is covered with "black piano" varnish - classic and unpretentious in maintenance. The 300 mm diameter cast aluminum disc ensures stable rotation and effectively dampens resonances due to its own mass. Shock-absorbing feet isolate the case from the stand. Gold-plated connectors minimize oxidation; all cables are negative. The power switch is located on the rear panel.
