Description

The network cable is the last thing people think about, yet it determines how clean the “blood” that powers your equipment is. The QED XT5 has been designed by British engineers with nearly half a century of experience in cable technology to ensure that the network is no longer the weak link in your hi-fi or home cinema.

The XT5 is based on the proprietary X-Tube technology, already known to audiophiles from QED acoustic cables, now adapted to the requirements of power supply. The phase and neutral conductors are made of separate thin wires, twisted in such a way that no two of them are next to each other for more than a few millimeters. This minimizes the so-called "proximity effect" - the accumulation of current density in neighboring conductors, which worsens the phase relationship between voltage and current and adds distortion. The grounding remains of traditional geometry, as it is used only in emergency situations.

The conductors are made of oxygen-free copper with a purity of 99.999%, and each core bundle is insulated with PVC compound K130 for capacitance control and reliable electrical separation. The hollow core of LDPE stabilizes the cable inductance, maintaining the correct phase relationship of the signal. The cross-section of the conductors is 1.5 mm² - thanks to the X-Tube geometry, this is enough for full current conductivity, and the cable itself remains thin and flexible, without overloading the equipment connectors.

The inner shell of the XT5 is impregnated with a ferrite compound that absorbs high-frequency radio interference and interference that penetrates through the network. This is especially important for sensitive components - phono equalizers, DACs, amplifiers - where even slight network noise can pollute the sound.

Despite the technological complexity, the XT5 remains convenient in everyday use: the flexible design is easily laid behind racks and furniture, and high-quality connectors (MK Tough Plug, Martin Kaiser IEC C13 connector) provide reliable contact in standard sockets and equipment sockets.
